ARTIST STATEMENT

My theme, I have summarized as, “building a human”. This piece is part one of a sub-theme, which is “growing a body”.  The way the piece is layered is to show what is going on throughout the body, on the inside and outside.  The additives, depicted by the syringe and the tube, represent the hand that other humans play in the development of the fetus. Outside influence is commonly represented in my work.
