HOW OUR WordPress Blog & Flickr Widget WORK TOGETHER

Steps for establishing (4) Feature Artist images in the right column of the VISUAL ARTicle WordPress blog.

  • WordPress.com allows the Administer to choose from approximately 75 themes.  A theme establishes what your blog looks like.  Each theme is package with optional applications, known as Widgets.
  • Spectrum by Ignancio Ricci is the VISUAL ARTicles WordPress Theme chosen by Mahyar Varasteh for the HHS Visual Arts Club.
  • Spectrum provides a Flickr Widget option.  The additional Widgets displayed on our blog are:  Subscription, Recent Posts, Archives, Blog Stats and Blog Roll.
  • The WordPress Administer enables networking with Flickr in My Blog / Dashboard / Appearance / Widgets
  • The Spectrum Flickr Widget allows the Admin to control the number of images displayed, (1) image or an entire column of images.  The Admin may also choose between large of small images. VISUAL ARTicles displays large images.
  • By manipulating the Flickr Upload default system of  last loaded / first listed, the WordPress Admin may control the pattern of images in the Flickr Widget.
  • CONFLICT ALERT: WordPress.com / Flickr occurred on Dec. 8, 2010 -  CLICK HERE to read more on BLOG SUPPORT, scroll down to the titled information.

HOW TO DISPLAY FEATURED ARTISTS PORTFOLIO IMAGES

  • The method used for displaying 4 Feature Artist images in the WordPress Flickr Widget is to re-upload the Feature Artist images so they appear first in the Photostream.
  • RECOMMENDATION: New student artwork is photographed and uploaded prior to establishing the Feature Artists priority position at the beginning of the Photostream.
  • All images have tags prior to uploading to Flickr.
  • Flickr provides an opportunity to tag images within the Photostream.  Learn more (not posted yet)
